About me
Thoughtful, precise, and analytical. I ask the questions that get to the real problem, and I want to properly understand something before I solve it. Explaining a subject to others is how I get there, so I often write or speak about topics I do not fully grasp yet. Calm and genuine. I care about a good team atmosphere.
The best parts of my work have always been customer demos, workshops, and knowledge sharing. I speak the language of developers, can zoom out to architecture, and treat aligning with non-technical people as the starting point of any solution. That alignment turns into clear requirements, and those requirements into tests.
Professional experience

Responsibilities covered the full process from technical design and interface documentation to implementation. Worked within Agile teams following established coding standards, peer reviews, and formal testing procedures.
Actively shared my knowledge and passion for C#, React, and other technical topics through workshops and presentations. Expertise: C#, .NET, React, SQL Server, SOAP, REST, OOP, git, Agile/Scrum, TDD |
| Freelance Software Engineer @ HPPT (2007 - 2012) |

Sharing and teaching
|
Occasionally writing at bouwe.io, with over 30 posts on React, Elm, state machines, functional programming, testing, and learning in public.
Hosted React workshops, talks at internal events, meetups, and a Kenyan bootcamp, live coding streams, lightning talks, and co-hosted the former Curious Coders Chronicles podcast. Temba, my open source low-code CRUD API library, comes from a fascination with API design. |
Education
